Music Experience
- 1994-2008 - Attended the annual HFAA conventions and took advanced Hardanger fiddle lessons from Loretta Kelley, Alf Tveit, Andrea Een, Hauk Buen, Leif Rygg, Vidar Lande, Haakon Hoegemo, Per Anders Buen, Anne Hytta, Jan Beitohaugen Granli, Arne Anderdal, Monika Antun, Arngunn Timenes Bell - all world-renowned fiddlers. Also attended advanced Hardanger fiddle workshops with Olaf Hegge, Andrea Een, and Loretta Kelley.
- 1997-present - Created the Nord Musikk duo with my husband, Jeff Larsen. Also play solo hardanger fiddle. 2003 - Jeff's composition for Norwegian Hardanger Fiddle, entitled The Long Journey (soundclip)was performed by us at the AmerikaSlaattar Competition at the Hardanger Fiddle Association of America Festival, Northfield, MN.
- 1999-2000, 2003-05, 2008 - Organized, promoted, and publicized the Madison Concerts of Norway's best Hardanger fiddlers and dancers. On the HFAA Committee to organize a concert commemorating the 1912 Hardanger Fiddle Competition in Stoughton, WI, July 22, 2003, featuring the finest Norwegian fiddlers and dancers.
- 2003-present - Lead a group of local hardanger fiddlers in a monthly practice (Spelemannslag). Details at Fykerud'n Spelemannslag. Come and play with us!
- 29 years of experience on violin - private classical violin lessons through high school and college. Member of various civic orchestras. Also member of Dark of the Moon Contra Band which plays for folk/dance events in the Madison area.
- Together with Dark of the Moon, provided hardanger and Scandinavian music for Fishin' for Tradition - a movie about lutefisk tradition in the Midwest. This movie was part of the 2009 Wisconsin Film Festival.
